This survey course enables leaders to define and determine business risk related to cybersecurity in a multifaceted environment.

This National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium (NCPC) training course is developed and delivered by Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI). NCPC courses are fully funded by DHS/FEMA and provided at no direct cost to participants.

 

 

Course Description

Participants are exposed to complex analysis and decision making related to risk. They will explore the importance of critical thinking and apply it to combined cyber, physical, and informational problems.
Participants will gain an appreciation for a standardized terminology and be introduced to methods of measuring risk. This course introduces participants to Factor Analysis of Information Risk (FAIR) and other models to aid in analysis.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize methods for formalized decision making processes
  • Utilize a common language taxonomy for risk management
  • Describe methods for calculating and measuring risk

Prerequisites

Participants with a basic understanding of computer networks and security will excel.

United States citizen, permanent resident, or prior approval is required to attend this class.

Required Materials

Participants are required to have a laptop computer that can access a public wifi connection.
