We are pleased to announce that AWR-432: Integrating Cyber Hazard Response into Exercise Planning has been formally certified by FEMA through the Homeland Security National Training and Education Division. The course equips emergency management and planning professionals with the tools to understand how cyber incidents intersect with traditional all-hazards frameworks. Participants will examine practical strategies for incorporating cyber scenarios into exercises that reflect emerging threats and operational realities. Beginning in late May, NUARI will host monthly, live, instructor-led web-based sessions of AWR-432 to provide direct engagement with subject matter experts. In-person delivery may also be requested.
NUARI currently delivers seven grant-funded, instructor-led cybersecurity courses through the National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium (NCPC), a university-based collaboration committed to strengthening cybersecurity capacity across the United States, its territories, and sovereign Tribal Nations.
In partnership with the University of Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute (CJI), the University of Texas at San Antonio Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS), Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center (TEEX), and the University of Memphis Center for Information Assurance (CFIA), NUARI supports the delivery of no-cost cybersecurity training to state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) communities, as well as to critical infrastructure stakeholders and industry partners. Eligible participants include small businesses, public-private partnerships, and other entities advancing community resilience.
Self-paced online courses are also available at no cost Web-Based Training – National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium
SLTT communities or organizations interested in learning more about grant-funded, instructor-led cybersecurity courses are encouraged to contact Ashley Lipton, Director of Cyber Outreach, at nuaritraining@nuari.org.
Additional course dates and registration details will be announced through NUARI’s and NCPC’s social media, website, and email updates. Future announcements will include the upcoming live web sessions of AWR-432, as well as opportunities to participate in locally hosted in-person deliveries.
