NUARI VP of Cybersecurity Research Elevated to New Leadership Role in the Vermont Air National Guard

We want to congratulate Jack Skoda, Lt. Col., Vermont Air National Guard (VTANG), and NUARI's Associate Vice President of Cyber Security Research for his recent appointment as the Director of Communications for the VTANG.

 

The A6 Director of Communications is the focal point for communications, cyberspace operations, plans, requirements, resources, capabilities, and support for the Vermont Air Staff. They provide relevant support, expertise, and guidance in network operations, information assurance, knowledge management, and information technology, enabling the mission's successful accomplishment.

 

"I'm excited about the opportunity to leverage my relationships between my Air National Guard Role, academic relationships at Norwich University, and NUARI – it will be a great synergy," said Lt. Col. Skoda.

 

Lt. Col. Skoda has spent over 35 years in the computer industry working for the United States Air Force and Navy, Fortune 500 companies, and start-ups.  During his time in the industry, he has worked in system and network administration, software development, testing, project management, and computer and network security. Lt. Col. Skoda worked with the Air Force Institute of Technology Center for Cyberspace Research to build and run an award-winning cyberspace operation training program for men and women of all branches of the military and several federal agencies.

 

In addition to his work with the VTANG and NUARI, Lt. Col. Skoda has found time to engage with future cybersecurity leaders and professionals who have enrolled in one of his several classes at Norwich University.
