NUARI – Norwich University Applied Research Institutes ("NUARI", "we", "us" or "our") operates the NUARI website (the "Service"). This page explains what Personal Information we collect when you use the Service or receive text messages from us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We do not use or share your Personal Information except as described in this Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

This policy covers this website and the text messages NUARI sends. NUARI's client services, training programs and platforms, such as DECIDE, are covered by their own agreements and notices.

Information We Collect

Information you give us. While using the Service, you may give us Personal Information that can identify or contact you ("Personal Information"). This may include:

• Mobile phone number
• Anything else you choose to include in a message or request to us

Log Data. Our servers collect information your browser sends when you visit the Service ("Log Data"). It may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

Cookies. Cookies are small files that may include an anonymous unique identifier. They are sent from a website to your browser and stored on your device. We use cookies to collect information and to help the Service work properly.

How We Use Information

• To provide, maintain and improve the Service
• To respond to your questions and support requests, and to schedule and carry on routine correspondence with you
• To send text messages you have agreed to receive (see Mobile Information and SMS below)
• To protect the security of the Service and to detect and prevent misuse

Mobile Information and SMS

NUARI may send text messages (SMS) to individuals who have provided a mobile phone number and consented to be contacted by text. NUARI employees send these messages for business communication relating to support requests, scheduling and routine correspondence.

Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS communication, and any consent to receive text messages, will not be sold, rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Our telecommunications service provider may process mobile phone numbers solely to deliver messages on our behalf. That provider is contractually prohibited from using this information for any other purpose.

Message frequency varies. Recipients typically receive fewer than 10 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation message, and no further messages will be sent. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at 802-895-6634 or SOC@nuari.org.

Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to help us run the Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related tasks, or to help us understand how the Service is used.

These third parties can access your Personal Information only to perform those tasks for us. They are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

This does not include mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent, which are not shared with third parties under any circumstances, except as described in the Mobile Information and SMS section above.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your Personal Information. We share it only with the service providers described above, and where required to do so by law, subpoena or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of NUARI, our users or others.

Cookies and Your Choices

You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to tell you when a cookie is being sent. If you refuse cookies, some parts of the Service may not work as intended.

Retention and Security

We keep Personal Information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as the law requires.

We take steps to protect your Personal Information, including access controls and encryption of data in transit. No method of transmission over the Internet, and no method of electronic storage, is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You may ask us to tell you what Personal Information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request.

The Service may contain links to sites we do not operate. If you click a third-party link, you will be taken to that site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies or practices of third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

The Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from Children. If you are a parent or guardian and you know that your child has given us Personal Information, please contact us. If we learn that a child under 18 has given us Personal Information, we will delete it from our servers promptly.
