Director, Information Operations Research - NUARI

The Director of IO Research will oversee the strategic planning, research, and writing for NUARI’s Information Operations program/s. This individual must be able to work in a collaborative environment, working closely with the senior leadership team and other constituents to build consensus on the strategy and execution of IO research projects. The Director will be a leader of vision and integrity, have experience as a change agent with demonstrated expertise and effectiveness, and have the creativity and energy to advance NUARI through its technical, relational, and partner developments and intellectual property sales. The successful candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of the federal assessment, evaluation, requirements gathering, and recommendation process, as well as the skills necessary to effectively do the work directly with the longer-term goal of developing and leading a team.

Essential Functions

1. Set the strategic direction and planning for assigned program requirements, direction, technology, and priorities within NUARI.
2. Oversee program research objectives and performance in collaboration with the CRO.
3. Assess the current use of program/contract systems impacting NUARI data and information flow/sharing, make recommendations, and develop plans and results tracking to improve efficiencies.
4. Organize, structure, and write all research program briefs, presentations, and next actions. 
5. Monitor changes and advancements in the field to give NUARI the most competitive advantage.
6. Analyze all risks, costs, and qualitative/quantitative value of program resources and outcomes to advise senior leadership.
7. Describe and integrate best practices and understanding into the broader organization for awareness and education.
8. All other duties assigned.

Education, Training, and Related Experience

•Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
•10+ years information operations or marketing & sales, or similar role
•Experience in multiple sectors and roles a plus
•Experience in the military a plus
•Strong understanding of target analysis, influence, and building/evaluating viewership
•An exceptional strategic and business mindset 
•Experience with/knowledge of the federal government acquisition process
•Passion for NUARI’s mission

Environmental Conditions/Physical Demands

•Remote or Onsite
•Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
•Frequent computer use at workstation.
•Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
•Mobility within the office. Ability to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs. Ability to use hands and fingers to handle office equipment, records, and files. Occasionally required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read and discern written errors on paper and electronic documents. Ability to talk and hear. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
•Ability to speak in front of large and small groups.
•Occasional travel as required.
