The Evolving Threat Landscape-  NUARI's Engagement with Space ISAC

As the only space-dedicated Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC), Space ISAC plays a critical role in collecting, analyzing, and disseminating cyber and physical security threats.

Last year, Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI) set a new standard by becoming Space ISAC's first University-tier member. This strategic partnership combines NUARI's renowned cybersecurity, defense technologies, and information advantage expertise to enhance the space industry's cyber threat information-sharing efforts. NUARI's impressive track record, backed by its close affiliation with the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense, makes it an invaluable addition to the Space ISAC community.

Enhancing Cybersecurity Capabilities

NUARI bolsters Space ISAC's efforts to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats by identifying emerging trends in national security issues. NUARI's interdisciplinary approach to academic excellence, innovation, and service aligns perfectly with Space ISAC's mission.

Aligning with National Standards

NUARI adheres to national standards such as NIST, MITRE, CMMC, and other cybersecurity frameworks, ensuring its expertise contributes to the collective cyber defense capabilities of the Space industry.

Next Steps

As a testament to the importance of this partnership, next week, NUARI's Chief Research Officer, Kristen Pedersen, will attend Space ISAC's fifth annual Value of Space Summit (VOSS V), exploring Geopolitical, Economic, and Cybersecurity Impacts on Global Space. The summit aims to integrate space, cybersecurity, and threat intelligence sharing, taking an ecosystem approach to collective defense. Additionally, the summit will provide a valuable opportunity for NUARI to engage with key stakeholders and contribute to the ongoing efforts to enhance cybersecurity in the Space industry.

By capitalizing on each other's expertise, NUARI and Space ISAC will drive innovation, improve information sharing, and ultimately enhance the resilience of the Space sector.
