Norwich University Applied Research Institutes Announces the Appointment of Peter Rogers to its Board of Directors
Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Rogers (NU'85) to its Board of Directors. He will serve a two-year term. Following the appointment of Rogers, the Board will comprise eight Directors, all of whom are Norwich University graduates.
"We are pleased to welcome Peter to the NUARI Board of Directors," said President Phil Susmann. "Peter's proven leadership in disaster response and homeland security will be a tremendous asset to our organization. We look forward to benefiting from his expertise as we advance our mission together."
A 22-year U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Rogers currently leads the Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), a position he was appointed to by Governor Janet T. Mills and confirmed by the Joint Standing Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety in March 2020.
Before taking the helm at MEMA, Mr. Rogers accumulated extensive experience in leadership roles, including Communications Director for the Governor's Office and the Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management, Acting Director of the State Planning Office, Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management, and as a representative for the U.S. Senate.
