NUARI's president, Phil Susmann, recently attended CYDEF2024 in Tokyo, Japan, marking his third year of participation in this prestigious conference. As a returning speaker and attendee, Phil joined international experts to address pressing digital risks, lending his expertise to discussions on modern conflicts, cognitive warfare, and critical infrastructure protection.

A Productive Week in Tokyo

Phil had a productive trip, exchanging ideas with Japanese Minister of Defense Gen. Nakatani. He also delivered a presentation on critical infrastructure resilience and information advantage research projects by NUARI. Phil and LtCol Jason Brown from the United States Military Academy at West Point provided an overview of best cybersecurity exercise design and delivery practices, focusing on threat casting and NUARI's DECIDE® Platform. Additionally, Phil discussed the National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium (NCPC), a key element of the national strategy to strengthen state, local, tribal, and territorial government infrastructure through education and training.
